I was off the other day and bored so I decided to tighten up my head bolts since my bike has 7600 miles on it and i never have gotten around to it, used an old fashoned torque wrench that has the little pointer and a guage. Anyway, my book is a clymer for savages up to 1988, and accidently got nm mixed up with foot lbs and torqued a bolt that is supposed to be 12 ft lbs to 31 ft lbs...and snap! Anyway I think if i take the head off there will be enough sticking out to get it with a vicegrip. I ordred a new bolt and head gasket from epowersports.com, they have good prices. Well mabye that will teach me to leave things alone LOL, I already miss riding to work everyday.
